Universal mounting of Renishaw &
HP Lasers and Optics
Volumetric performance of machine tools and coordinate measuring machines may be rapidly evaluated by measuring the displacement
accuracy of the machine along the four body diagonals from one laser setup.
The Universal Laser Diagonal Measurement Kit conforms with ANSI/ASME B5.54 and ANSI/ASME B89.1.12M
schematic setup for the measurement of diagonal displacement performance using
the Laser Interferometer. The Kit includes a
90° Beam Bending Mirror with coarse and fine adjustment, facilitating fast and efficient beam alignment.
Also provided are Mounting Plates, which enable the Laser Head with Interferometer and
90° Beam Bending Mirror to be mounted on the worktable of a two-axis moving table
machine. On very large machines, the Optics may be mounted remotely from the
Laser Head.
The Laser Head Mounting Plates may also be used as a low profile tripod. The translation/rotation stage from the Renishaw or Hewlett Packard Laser Tripod is attached to the Laser Mounting Plate using the adapters supplied. The Jack Screws provided with the
Kit are attached to the four corners of the Plate, thereby aiding the mechanic in leveling and aligning the
Laser to the axis under test.
The Universal Laser Diagonal Measurement Kit is compatible with the Hewlett
Packard 5528 Laser System using the 5508 display and
HPIB-488 interface. Compatibility with the Renishaw ML10 Laser System requires the Renishaw
PCM20 interface.
