A better Way to Achieve Tolerances

Total Process Control

TPC means putting quality "up front" by controlling the machine, not the parts.

1. First, we evaluate the part drawings to determine the closest tolerances of position, size, form, and squareness.

2. These tolerances are then used in the error budgeting process to establish machine performance specifications.

3. We evaluate existing equipment to determine whether rebuilding, replacing, or repairing the machine tool is the best solution.

4. We conduct baseline characterization, (i.e. we establish "base-lines" by characterizing the machine component geometry with parametric tests).  The results of these tests should be within the part specifications.

5. Finally, IQL systems are used to periodically measure machine performance, and to determine if the machine has changed.  If the limits of the performance measurement tests exceed established limits, the machine parameters are re-measured and corrected.
